Since my days of sitting in front of the computer screen and spending countless hours racing online and off, my old racing simulator isn?t getting much use these days. Instead I have found it more enjoyable to create a ?fantasy? racing series and seeing what comes of it.
Now it?s your turn.
Could you do it? Do you think you could run a competitive racing organization?
Think you got what it takes to put the right drivers in the right cars with the right teams?
Can you build race winning engines and have the right people in place to get to victory lane?
The year is 1949? and only a few months away will be the first ever NASCAR race.
As the owner of your very own race team, you will:
1) Decide where your shop is located.
2) Build a competitive racecar. Or two?
3) Invest in strong engines that can win races.
4) Have a fast pit crew with a wise crew chief.
5) Hire a driver that can win races and keeps your racecar in one piece.
6) Decide what races you?ll run.
And you?ll do it all on your tiny start-up budget.
If it sounds slightly intriguing, just reply and I?ll send an email with the particulars.
If not, I?ll blog next week on the stellar racing career of Dave Blaney with PRISM Motorsports. Those at least take longer to read than the time he spends in a racecar on Sunday!
