Adam Boatman is a fast learner. He has only sat in his Legends car for 3 races and he took the pole in his 3rd race. With a qualifying time of 14.826 seconds on the 4/10 mile Newport Speedway, he has showed some others how to handle the track when it is hot and slippery. He still has some lessons to learn from Chris McKinney, though. Chris took the lead on the first lap and never looked back until he saw the checkers. Taylor Coffman, this years Thunder Legends Series points leader, started and finished 3rd. Brian Tinker and Jacob Owen put on a really good show for the 4th and 5th positions with Brian ultimately finishing 4th and Jacob finishing 5th. John Lamon, another new driver, got his best finish of 6th with Tyler Goodwin and Jim Brown coming in 7th and 8th.
Next race is at Lonesome Pine Raceway on August 7th with the Super Cup Series.
