will Nascar change the dates around? Daytona is in the mix to be the last race of the year. Nascar can go a lot of different ways about this. They could change the 500 around to the last race. Would they really change the Daytona 500 to the last race of the year? I guess it's very possible. I mean the Super Bowl is the biggest game of the year and it's the title game, right? Would Nascar really change its most prestigous race to the end of the year and perhaps the biggest race would decide the championship? Wow.
They could also change the Coke Zero 400 around to the end, or ultimately they could add another Daytona race to the schedule. Maybe call it the Earnhardt or Petty 450 presented by a sponsor (180 laps). I've said they should have done that for years now. Why not have the historic track have the last race and the race be named by one of it's all time champions or both of them? Both made Nascar very popular and Daytona will always go with both of their names. When you think of Daytona you usually think of them, and when you think of them you always think about Daytona.
I hear Las Vegas got another race and may be the last race of the year with Homestead taking the second race of the 2011 season over Fontana (thank God if that happens). Las Vegas is where the awards cermonies is and it makes a lot of "cents" for Nascar because of the casinos.
