I'd like to first say that I'm on Joey Logano's side. I feel bad for the kid. He had a great run going and it got taken away by Kevin Harvick. But Joey is at part fault as well. Joey has had a lot of help to get where he is today and while he is very talented he has proven absolutely nothing when it comes to his fellow competitors.
This is why Brad Keselowski did what he did when he was getting pressured by the cup Series guys in the Nationwide Series. "No matter who you are, you're not going to take advantage of me". Brad has had respect problems when it comes to some of the Cup guys, but except for the Carl Edwards incident, everyone has given him a lot of room on the racetrack. Whether or not you want to believe it Brad has staked his ground on the racetrack while Joey hasn't. Joey gives so much room on the racetrack drivers now expect him to pull over. Joey needs to do what Brad did, prove to them that you won't get pushed around. Kevin Harvick is like the bully in your high school. He thinks he's great, and want's himself to look good so he picks on the smaller guy to look tough. Let's take a roll call on all the drivers and crewmembers Kevin has been involved with:
Joey and none of us should be surprised with Harvick's actions because he has done it his whole career. Joey doesn't need to wreck Harvick to prove a point, just block him or race him hard. The worst part though is Joey Logano's father. He really gives Joey a bad reputation as a "kid" rather then a professional race car driver. I'm actually embarrassed when I'm watching him on television. I keep thinking "Would Tim Tebow's mother step on the field to protect his son", this is going to look bad to new fans.
I'm not really sure what Joey will do but NASCAR has already proven that there will be no consequences when it comes to retaliation. Even if Joey sends Harvick flying next week at Michigan Joey will only face minor penalties. The door is open for Logano, but I just don't see him doing anything. And until he actually does something I'm still going to look at him as a driver not a racer.
Who's side are you on? Joey? Kevin? Has Logano done this to himself? Will he get revenge? What do you think?
