Well, this week, I do have some free time, thank god. Maybe that could end up being a bad thing, because I kicked some major ass with the picks this past week...
Talon64, what was that about Kyle Busch being a bad pick, for at least my reserve?!? Not only does he win the pole, my starting pick, Denny Hamlin leads the most laps, and wins the race. 110 points from Hamlin, 10 from Busch, maxed out with 120 out of the possible 120 points one could earn from A-List picks
Kevin Harvick might not wear the "fire suit" in his family, but he certainly scored me some points with leading some laps, and a 4th place finish. David Reutimann did reasonably well too with his 15th place finish. 94 points from Harvick, 62 from Reutimann.
You know things are going good for you when even the C-Listers give you a good result. A top 10 finish by AJ Allmendinger. 72 points from "Dinger", 348 points overall, most points I scored in a race so far this season.
Now to Michigan.
Starter: Carl Edwards
Reserve: Kyle Busch
I could very well see myself switching these two picks at some point during the week. Yes, Kyle does not have the best results at Michigan, but I think he is starting to turn his season around, so I am keeping him in mind. Carl Edwards hasn't had a great season either, however, if there has been one constant from Carl so far, its that he owns Michigan. I have a feeling that I will probably end up being all starry-eyed over the pick, and end up getting burned, but past results are telling me to go with him.
Starters: Matt Kenesth, Jamie McMurray
Reserves: Kevin Harvick, Ryan Newman
I was actually tempted to pick Joey Logano as a starter, but I just have an odd feeling that the feud between him and Kevin Harvick is going to blow up, if not now, then very soon. Roush has done well at Michigan, so, like with my A-List, Roush drivers get some preference, and that's why Kenesth will be a starter. McMurray had bad luck at Pocono (not of his doing), but I have a feeling he will score a good finish this weekend. Harvick and Newman are my reserves.
Starter: Paul Menard
Reserve: Scott Speed
I was tempted to pick Casey Mears, but some of his past results here are Hendrick helped, and he has not shined at all in the 83 car, so despite having decent results, and the 83 having a recently good history here, I cannot pick him. Paul Menard will be my pick, as I have a gut feeling he is going to do something good this weekend. Speed is my reserve.
