I?ve always enjoyed the first Nashville Nationwide race. I think a lot of it stems from the fact that there are fewer Sprint Cup drivers entered and therefore it gives the regulars a chance to show their stuff. I?m not a big fan of the Cup guys in Nationwide, but I also understand the economics of it in terms of drawing folks to the track and the television. I love that Roush-Fenway was able to secure sponsorship to run Ricky Stenhouse and Colin Braun for the full schedule. But anyway, on to Nashville?

It use to be ARCA sharing the stage with the Nationwide boys, but this year it?s the Camping World Truck Series. This is fantastic! The truck series is my favorite series to watch. I love that veterans like Hornaday and Skinner get to battle hard with the young guns like Austin Dillon and Timothy Peters. And even though he?s a Cup guy, Kyle Busch puts on a good show in the trucks.

Hopefully the weather will cooperate Saturday for the Nationwide race. 70% chance of rain. Meteorologist only seem to be wrong when you don?t want them to be.

Truck Series Picks and Notes:
It?s hard to bet against Kevin Harvick for the truck win and I?m going with Steve Wallace as a dark horse. Keep one eye on Johnny Sauter to see if he goes Carl Edwards on Hornaday. Another interesting note is that Brad Keselowski is entered in the truck race in his own #29 Dodge. (Full disclosure: I?m a fan of my fellow Michigander, Keselowski.)

Nationwide Picks and Notes:
I gotta go with Joey Lagono for the Nationwide win with Johnny Sauter as a darkhorse in the Baker-Curb #27.
