"Grand-Am Rolex - Round 12 - Lime Rock (THE FINALE)"

I hate to sound cliché, but this is it.

Eleven grueling rounds of the Grand-Am Rolex Series have passed since the green flag waved at Daytona in January, and it all comes down to this. The championship round, at Lime Rock Park.

This race is historic. Very historic, in that it will mark the end of the Grand-Am Series as we know it. After the checkered flag falls, all the familiarity is gone, and United SportsCar Racing takes its place. The classes of cars will be completely revamped.

Out with the DP, GT, and GX; in with the P, PC, GTLM, and GTD.

The American Le Mans Series will also cease to exist, as the two sanctioning bodies will merge. The brand-new series will run 12 races next year, but not all of the tracks will return, including this very race at Lime Rock. Also gone from the schedule will be Barber Motorsports Park, Mid-Ohio, and Kansas Speedway.

But before that, championships from this year must be won. And that includes the championships of this very league. Here are the standings, one last time:

Overall:
1. Dodge - 540 [4] {3} (+1)
2. NRF - 535 [4] {5} (-1)
3. BIARB - 355 [4] {2}
4. NLLP - 170 [2] {1}
5. Draco - 150 [1] {0}
6. TLS - 130 [0] {1}
7. David - 65 [0] {0} (+1)
8. 24over48 - 60 [0] {0} (-1)
9. RichardHead - 5 [0] {0}

DP:
1. BIARB - 240 [4] {2}
2. Dodge - 215 [1] {2 1/3}
3. NRF - 145 [2] {2 2/3}
4. NLLP - 140 [2] {2 1/3}
5. Draco - 105 [1] {0}
6. TLS - 20 [0] {1/3}
7. David - 20 [0] {1/3} (+1)
8. 24over48 - 10 [0] (-1)
9. RichardHead - 5 [0] {0}

GT:
1. NRF - 385 [2] {6.5}
2. Dodge - 310 [3] {3.5}
3. BIARB - 145 [0] {0}
4. TLS - 110 [0] {1}
5. David - 45 [0] {0} (+1)
6. NLLP - 25 [0] {0} (-1)
7. Draco - 10 [0] {0}
8. 24over48 - 5 [0] {0}
9. RichardHead - 0 [0] {0}

Can Dodge hang on to his slim overall points lead? Or will NRF snatch it and the championship back? And will BIARB, hanging tough in DP, keep Dodge at bay? NRF has the GT title all but sewed up, but to quote a line from Ride of Their Lives, in racing, there are no guarantees.

For the final time ever in the RRGAFL, good luck to all.
