Introducing...the Racing Reference NFL Fantasy Predictor League!

Let's rewind a bit. This has been a very hard year for the fantasy games on this site. We started the year with 5 games, with approximately 40 players playing them. Now, we're down to 3 games, and only about 15 people are still actively playing. Three of the people running the games (NLLP, Draco, 24over48) have disappeared from this site, so some of us young-guns have had to take over. Thankfully, despite the hard times, things are starting to return to normalcy, and with NFL training camps opening this week, I figured that now would be a good time to run this idea for a league past you all.

The rules are fairly simple, though not overly easy. As I'm sure you all know, Vegas releases the odds for each regular season NFL game. An example: Browns vs. Steelers (+7). Well, my games relies heavily on the points spread. When predicting, you will be given 4 choices:

Browns by 7 or more points (a.k.a. Browns with spread)
Browns by less than 7 points
Steelers by less than 7 points
Steelers by more than 7 points (a.k.a. Steelers with spread)

Predictions should be formatted like this: "Browns vs. Steelers: Browns with spread/Browns/Steelers/Steelers with spread"

You will receive 3 points for each team correctly predicted to win. If you also correctly predict the margin of victory, you receive 5 points.

Predictions start next week with the Hall of Fame Game (Dolphins vs. Cowboys). Because Vegas doesn't release preseason spreads that I know of, during the preseason, this will be nothing more than a "pick'em league". The preseason champion will receive a 7 point bonus to start off the season. As for the postseason, the rules will be vastly similar to the NFL postseason; however, because I don't know how many people are interested, I won't announce any rules for the moment.

If anyone has any suggestions about how to make this league better, don't hesitate to comment and tell me about them. I'm interested to hear your opinions about this league. In the meantime, stay well, and go Vikings!
