A big congratz to Dodge on his first win of the year!!! He moves to be only 39 points out of the lead and only 18 out of 2nd! (Its weird to see a guy named Dodge win a race by picking a Chevy and a Toyota. LOL!)
Surprisingly no one picked the winner in this race (a rarity). Although ShakeNBake turned a winning combination (#s 2 & 11) into a 10th place finish with him changing his picks later on in the week.
Dodge becomes the 9th different winner this year and is the 3rd winner this year who entered a race last season.
On the other end of the field we have our own Kyle Busch in Spanimal who continues to either win or finish at the bottom, this week he broke the record for least amount of points gained under the new points system. Sorry about that buddy.
On another note, I am considering rules changes to help stem the flow of ties, which we have seen an abundance of in the last 12 races or so. I will not bring back the old rule of picking the same driver only twice in the same month, but I am considering asking everyone to rank their picks instead of them being open.
We currently do our picks like this:
They are unranked and it doesn't matter where they finish at all because I always count the top 2 of the three.
What I am proposing is our picks would now look like this:
1st place: #14
2nd place: #15
3rd place: #16
Now with this, it would LARGELY stay the same, You would still receive the points earned by your top 2 drivers but now if your pick is exactly where you placed him you would earn bonus points like so:
1st Correct: 3 BP
2nd Correct: 2 BP
3rd Correct: 1 BP
Also this DOES NOT mean they have to finish 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in the race, they just have to finish in the order that you predicted. In my example the #14 would have to finish ahead of the #15 and the #15 would have to finish ahead of the #16.
Another rule I am considering is simply expanding to everyone picking 4 drivers instead of three and I will count 3 of the 4 drivers.
I want EVERYONES opinion on this. Let me know what you think or if you have an idea that is better, I would really appreciate any input given. Thank You.
