I would be remiss if I did not discuss this. When doing a piece before the Daytona 500 a few years ago, Jimmie Johnson said that he was not ready to have kids. Well, I guess that has changed. He and his wife Chandra are expecting their first child due around July.

That may have taken a little longer than some of you might have expected, but it has happened. It will be interesting to see how this lengthens or shortens his career. Jeff Gordon has not been as good since getting married and having Ella Sofia.

I don't know how this will affect Jimmie because he is so good at what he does. I think that Chad Knaus has had something to do with the success that he has had. However, I think that whoever takes over for Chad will still have a shot at the championship because of Rick Hendrick and the entire organization. Look at what happened when Chad was suspended. The team was just as successful with Darian Grubb. Hendrick is a well-oiled machine with the right person behind the wheel. Look at what happened with Mark Martin this year. He took a team that did not make the Chase with Casey Mears behind the wheel and made the team a contender for the championship.

It does not make June Bug look very good, but I will get into that topic later. Anyways, I am sure that Jimmie will find a way to manage it. He is locked and loaded to make another run a championship this year. This year might be the first one that J.J., Jr. gets to experience.
