Default Start and Park's

After Donny Lia's fantastic 1 lap effort at Lowe's on Saturday it brought to my attention the fantastic world of the Start and park! The reason i've started this thread (and i've put in the Nationwide series for obvious reasons!) is that i feel it has got worse?

I feel that more teams are starting and parking and that it's got too ridiculous! I reckon teams should have to compete a certain amount of laps before they get winnings for example... i understand that would be difficult to police but i just think the likes of MSRP motorsports are kinda taken the P***!

No words... It's the reality of NASCAR since 1949 in all series. Why?

I understand that they do "fill the field" but i just feel that there is too many of them especially in the Nationwide Series... and racing 1 Lap, seriously whats the point!

Terry Cook has qualified for (so far) 16 races for MSRP Motorsports since 2008 (with 1 DNQ) and the most laps he has completed was 24 at Richmond this year!

I don't want to sound like I'm having a major rant as it's not the end of the world but i just think its a bit of a joke!

I totally agree with Kirkyal 1st post.
New 50% Money Rule:
NO money if ANY car raced less than 50% of race full distance.
And this "New 50% Money Rule" must be "a must" for all: Cup, Wide, Truck.

Since 2007 I have such (New 50% Points Rule) eureka:
NO Points if ANY car (driver) raced less than 50% of race full distance.

I was really disappointed with Lia and the 07 S&P'ing after they'd run pretty decent with David Green to start the year and then finished 17th with Carpentier at Darlington, especially since they're a first year team.

But MSRP is by far the worst of the S&P'ers and I actually root against them in qualifying.

The MSRP car #90 and #91 are really fast in qualifying run with the max of tape and aggressive settings. For the race this is not the same song...

This team has no desire to participate. It's almost a disgrace to the image of NASCAR.

Agreed!! Fair play for them consistently making the race but seriously give it a go once you get there!!

Lately, 'start & parks' reduced in Nationwide, but still MSRP Motorsports' attempts to race look like stupid jokes. What is the reason for this? To earn money, of course. Are they willing to change the situation? I don't know. Maybe they have a lmited budget and come to the race track with one set of tires and worn out engine spending all their winnings on various payments? All in all, I believe there's no sense in this. Something should be done.

Remember when Jeff Gordon tried doing magic tricks and almost cut Andy Hillinbergs car in half at Darlington? Thats why start and parkers need to do less driving and more helping set up chairs and tables for the post race press conference.

Ha! Maybe we could forward that idea to NASCAR!
