an all time great....
makes me think what he would have achieved if he hadnt died...

if he hadnt fallen off his game in 1992, he would be the only driver in history with 8 championships including 5 in a row, but alas we have the 7 time champion which is still a near unbeatable feat.

He was in his prime at age 50. Most drivers fall of by then. he would have given Jeff Gordon a run for his money in 2001 if he hadn't past away. He said in an interview before he died that he would have raced about 2-3 more years then he would have call it a carrer. I believe he would have won 1 more Cup. But we will never know................
Dale and Petty are in my top 5 drivers of all-time.

Yeah, oops. My bad. racing reference has his 2001 age as 50. so that is why i put 50 down. He was 49.
