so the news coming out of the town hall meeting this last monday was that NASCAR will not limit the cup drivers on how many nationwide races they can run, but they will no longer earn points toward the championship. thus creating a playoff system for NASCARs number 2 series which has stood without one for 6 years after the cup series went to one...
while this is a good move and we will see a new name in the champions spot next i have to wonder how things would be if they just limit the driver to 5-10 races a year... Discuss!

At least Edwards and Buschwon't win the championship next year, but what would a championship be worth for Allgaier, Bayne or Wallace if they win only one race (or none at all).
Also, I don't like the idea of having someone run 35 (or 25) races but not seeing him in the standings, while he has 6 wins and 20 top-tens. I would have preferred a limit of 12-15 races for Cup regulars, no exceptions for rookies. |

I'd say eliminate Cup drivers from Nationwide OR give them the points they earned.
As T-27 says, I don't like the idea of someone dominating a Championship, while someone else with only one (or none at all) win grabs the Championship title... |
