I think they should limit it to a maximum of 5 Buschwhackers per race and 7races per driver each year, and all the buschwhackers would have to qualify on speed. So that means more Nationwide regulars would win races and it would be guaranteed that a Nationwide regular wins the championship.

I would like to see Cup drivers race the major races through the season. They shouldn't be able to race Cup team equipment. But I understand why the series needs them. To make money. They should never be able to race a whole season. That is ridiculous. At the rate they are going Martin Truex Jr. will be the last pure Busch/Nationwide champ that wasn't a full time Cup guy. Ever since Harvick was forced to do it in 2001 everyone wants to do it.

If you are in the top 35 in points in the cup cars....then you sit your butt in the stands and watch.... How many of the nationwise teams have had to shut down their opperations because the big buck cup teams ???
The ARCA Series is just as bad now on the super speedways...Cup teams use ARCA as a R&D session now.... |

Personal opinionis that anyone in the top 35 should not be allowed to race in Busch or Trucks. But of course that's not going to happen. So a limit of some kind would be acceptable to me. And of course there would need to be exceptions and blah blah blah and yadda yadda.
I used to be very vocal about Buschwackers but have since simply learned to sit back and enjoy the show. Sponsors demand that there logos are viewed on tv, (preferrably in Victory Lane) and sponsors drive NASCAR. Take any top notch young talent. Put that talent in the very best car money can buy. Let that talent win every race. And you will still not generate the media attention that a battle for a single win between Kyle, Kevin, Carl, and Tony can. Used to be that if you wanted a Cup ride you pretty much had to take the series championship. Now, show that you can at least run with Cuppers in Busch, and you might get a shot. But, if you come to the track with a car/driver that can't break the top 10 on a regular basis, you are simply in way over your heads. "Used to be" and "How it is today". Take it or leave it because NASCAR imo is never going to do anything at all about Cup Light, excepting maybe encourage more Cup drivers and more Cup teams to enter. |
